Wagners chooses to list individual varieties based on a number of criteria, including garden performance, greenhouse performance, unique features, and market demand. We visit greenhouse and field trials nationwide to monitor variety performance and build our knowledge of new and upcoming varieties.
We list over 1100 varieties on our young plant programs. In some categories, like Abutilon, one series is represented. Other crops, like impatiens, petunias and zinnias, are represented by many different series. You are probably familiar with many of the series we list, but others may be new to you. Or maybe you are ready to try something new. Either way, we hope this section of our web site will be a resource to you in your decision-making process.
Be sure to spend some time exploring our Variety Index. The Variety Index is a great resource, a place to learn about all the varieties on our lists. Included are images and descriptions of nearly every variety we list. By selecting a group of varieties as Favorites, you can also view the images side by side, even if they cross series or crops. Give it a try and see how it helps you make comparisons.
